BitDefender tests anti-rootkit software

It's nice to see companies are getting proactive about rootkits, but now we will have to have another piece of software on our PC's.

This does not play well with Windowblinds. You will have to unload WB before scanning.

Tarkus, I believe Sony last year was surreptitiously placing root kits on your computer if you bought their DVD writers and accompanying software. I really don't know HOW MANY others are doing this but the drawback, as IsD pointed out, is you have to unstall WB before you scan.

So they just rewrite the rootkits. I am dubious as to how well this is going to work out.

And I would assume they would update the Rootkit Defender also. Just as any other AV product.
I also contacted them about having a problem with Windowblinds.
