Cannot Load DesktopX

Everything was find when I shutdown last night...but when I booted up today I got a "Buffer Overrun detected" error.

The error title is "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library"

Buffer Overrun detected!

Program/Stardock/ObjectDesktop/DesktopX/DesktopxBuilder.exe

A buffer overrun has been detected which has currupted the program's internal state. The program cannot safely continue execution and must now be terminated.

What do I need to do? Thanks in advance for any help.

have you tried clearing the cache?

I get the same error and clearing the cache does not make a difference. Not sure what happened but everything was fine yesterday when I shut down the machine.

I tried to reinstall but the install file i have keeps saying the serial number is wrong. how can i get the right one?

I went to stardock.com/support and got the correct s/n and reinstalled DTX. I am up and running. I sure would like to know what happened though. Any thoughts???

I uninstalled then re-installed and am working fine now. Strange how this happened. I would not necessarily think it was an update. I did not update DesktopX until after this happened. Strange.

All is well now.

come to think of it - I did a windows update the night before it happened and I just bet that was it. Leave it to Bill....
