Importing Skins with Custom Settings Set

Monday, July 10, 2006 by JGSaxon | Discussion: WindowBlinds

I've discovered a problem with importing skins into Windowblinds. If you have Toolbars set to always use a particular toolbar, Windows Animation set to always use a particular Windows Animation set, and Always use a particular shellstyle, when you import a new skin, those three will NOT import. The way I discovered this was by changing all of the settings back to default and then trying to apply a skin, those three items would apply and give you the default window style of each. This is a HUGE problem because the default for a particular skin does not import if you have customizations set when importing. I tried going back to look through some skins that had been imported with customizations set and when I set all of the three back to default, the toolbar, the shellstyle and the animations were windows default when applying the new skin. I don't know how else to explain this.

What happens if you have those settings set, but instead of importing - double click the file and let it self install?

That's how I do it, but if I try to change to that skin and reset all the defaults, none of those items are there, just windows default.
