Windowblinds and remote desktop

Thursday, June 29, 2006 by dhaider | Discussion: WindowBlinds

Hi. I've been using WB on my desktop for a number of years without problem.

I've recently started to use XP's Remote Desktop to connect to my desktop from my notebook computer.

This generally works fine, but it seems to cause problems with windowblinds.

After the session is terminated the windowblind skin currently applied becomes very corrupted with pink chunks in the middle of most of the buttons and other skinnable itemms.

To fix the problem you can either restart and change the skin to XP type and then back again. Mostly this resolved the problem.

Can anyone else reproduce this problem? Any resolution?

I can't address teh corruption question, but if the laptop and desktop are in the same vicinity (next to each other), may I suggest Multiplicity? It's a rockin' good app!

Hey, I thought I should add my own experiences with WindowBlinds and Remote Desktop Connection/Terminal Services (RDP). I works OK

I have problem when switching from working on the console (in front of the computer) and then switch working remotly (from the office). Theme get trashed somewhat, especially buttons.

A reload of the current theme do solve the issue. The reload function, previsouly found in the tray icon menu (some versions ago...), is reached by opening the WindowBlinds configuration. Somewhat inconvenient

Is there knowledge of this problem (Stardock)? Can I expect the Reload function to reappear in the tray icon menu?
