Saving Themes
Wednesday, June 28, 2006 by Peter Gambino | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk
A: Leave out a bunch of icons and not save them to the package
B: Save all the icons, but the Big and Small pictures are mixed up, so for desktop you will have the big desktop image, then the little image thats supposed to also be the desktop image is the image of the one next to it, for every image... I didnt think it would be a problem, but now after deleting something my recycle bin will dissapear and my powerpoint icon will dissapear replaced with a undefined icon....
I found out how to bypass part a because if you save it just look at the preview of the saved theme and you can see if all the icons are there, if not just save it again... but part b, no idea what to do....
My question, is this a known bug, is it being addressed, has it been addressed, am i stupid, what? any info you guys have would be appreciated...

I wanted to customize my an iconpackage for myself to use on my laptop and desktop... I like certain icons from one package and certain icons from another package, so what i did was, load the package i liked the most icons of... then i went into the icons and cursors tab and i proceded to change different icons to match my liking, for example i took the red internet world icon from compewter for my internet, then i changed my folders to be from another icon package, then i changed my music folder to be a ipod icon that i downloaded from the misceleneous icons on WC....
So now I have my master set of icons that i would like to save as a theme....
Now when i save, ive been having one of two problems....
First problem, id save the package, put it onto my other computer load it up, and realize not all the icons saved properly, my recylcling bin is missing an image, as well as my powerpoint image that i selected.... I got past this problem by saving the package again and then making sure all the icons where saved by selecting the package i saved and clicking preview and seeing if all the icons saved...
Now my next problem, after checking to see that all icons did indeed save... i put the package back on my other computer and loaded it up.... this time problem was different..
When you do a preview of the icons, or apply them and look at them in the icons and cursors tab, each icon is supposed to appear with a large picture and right to the side of it a small picture, representing what will be seen in your taskbar.... the large picture is correct for all of them, but the small picture that is supposed to be a duplicate of the large picture, is not.. it is a small picture of the next icon to the right.... so when im looking at the icons in the icons and cursors tab the first icon is my documents, the big icon of my documents is there, but the small version of it that shows right besides it is a picture of my computer, so then you look at my computer, its a big picture of my computer, but the small picture (the taskbar picture) is of my network places, and so on and so forth...
Now this seems at first to be causing no problems, but when i delete things or do certain tasks all of a sudden my icon images will get reset to a blank white icon, for example ill empty my recycling bin and all of a sudden it turns into a white icon and doesnt reset when i reset my computer, i have to reload my messed up theme again, only for it to happen not to long afterwards.... (ive also noticed it happens more on my desktop than my laptop, but still has happened on my laptop)
Why am i having so much trouble saving my customized theme that i made by using icons from other premade themes?
