Forum Problem

Tuesday, June 27, 2006 by _02 | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

Just in case it hasn't been discovered yet, when clicking on the majority (not all) threads under the "more " section, they come up blank. Also some of the ones on top open to a blank page.
I had to get to my Artrage thread through my account to add a comment because it is under the "more" section, and it comes up blank when opened. The ArtRage thread opens to a blank page when trying to access through the forum. I am however able to access it through my personal page.

I have had the same problem as well as not being able to post images in the forums and the links coming up odd. I noticed that not everyone is having these problems. Is there a thread I missed that explains how to fix this since the forums have been redone?

I went through this about 6 months ago, and someone had told me how to reset either my ZA or FFox (Can't remember which), but I can't change my avatar and the animated emoticons in forums aren't animating for me any more.

Im having all the same problems...could you please do and update on front page - ican't access forum unless i go through stardock central and there is a strange dragging on my cursor. I cant manuever the site at all from over a week. All forums come up as blank pages in Firefox - if there is a solution could you please let usFairyy~ know . Even my backspace button is " jiggy " when I try to backspace. The font looks like its a size 18 - i cant change it. I try and it reverts back to verdana 2 . If I click a link I can get to forum through explorer if im not signed in - but once signed in im " Citizen Fairy " which im not.....until I change to another page. I have had no honorific for a long time - petty I know but I like being just " fairyy ~ "

Unlike Fairyy~ I don't seem to be able to quote text in Opera 9.
I would like to request a "jiggy" backspace button for myself.

I do however see the additional posts (as many as I've checked) and I can come straight to the Forum (my Home Page) and am already logged in. There is some text overlapping the edge of the "Recent Forum Activity" box. Honorifics are gone and when I click on someone's nick I get a "Stardock.com User Information Page" instead of their site. I can move between Home - Galleries - Forums - etc. while staying logged in unlike some people have reported. Hope this info helps T-Man.

Looks like the edit works too. I would also like to thank whoever it was that removed the intellitext. I have a severe dislike of intellitext sites.

Thank you Po and Cavan for keeping this thread alive. I think it worked! I am able to open all threads now without being taken to a blank page, so thank you very much T-Man or whoever got it fixed. That was fast! I hope the rest of the problems mentioned here are fixed as fast too!

Hello. We're having some difficulty reproducing the errors you mentioned Po'Smedley. Please let us know what browser and version you are using, along with steps to reproduce the errors you mentioned. We're aware that the smilies menu in firefox (and some versions of opera) is not working properly at the moment.

I'm using Firefox 1.5.0.4 and couldn't see any edit toolbar at all.

I'm also using The Firefox extension called NoScript. I changed the setting to Allow Scripts Globally at wincustomize.com.
After that I now can finally see the editing toolbar, the smilies etc, but I still have the same problem as Po' Smedley. It's not possible to edit, insert images or smilies etc. Nothing...

It looks like it works if I use the WinCustomize Browser though. Test:

One problem I'm having in the forums is its freezes for a few seconds after clicking on a topic or posting a reply...basically clicking on anything in the forums causes a freeze.

I'm using Firefox 1.5.0.4
Also have NoScript extension but allow WC and Stardock.
Have ZA and allow WC, WC images, Stardock, Stardock images...I allow everything WC and Stardock.

As far as helping you to reproduce the steps...I am just trying to do what I have always been able to until the forums were reformatted. The 'new' little toolbar that is here does not work, except for the font tools which work fine. The Internet link does not work correctly and the images tool will only display the link.

Okay...I stand corrected on the image thing. lol. However, when I used it this time, a different window opened to insert the URL than I was getting yesterday. This new one had less options (sizing, etc.) Let me test the others.....

seems to be a hit or miss thing..i dunno. I'll stop flooding the thread and try again later.

oops...the internet link still displays an entire link and not just the little globe with the word link.

Most of the problems I had have stopped. Just 3 left
The quote tool won't work. (Not even inserting the quote code)
The link tool still displays the whole link
Animated smileys and such aren't showing animation.

The last one, someone told me how to fix a while ago, but I have since reformatted my harddrive.

Thanks for your help with the other stuff, and your efforts. I know you all are busy.

Cindi - have you updated FF browser to the current version ? I was having same problem - updating solved it. I can now access forum with Firefox. I can insert images and quote option now works.
