How do I apply this type of downoad?

Maybe a stupid question here........but........look at the source! :)

Friday, June 9, 2006 by TheGuyPC | Discussion: WindowBlinds

Every now and again I download a WB theme and instead of getting the WB paintbrush & pallet, I get a whole page full of crap.

I don't know how to appy a theme that isn't packaged so that all you have to do is click on the icon.

I hope I'm being clear enough here.

I downloaded two WB's from Customize.org and they both came like this.

If anyone can help or, give me a link to explain it, I'd appreciate it. I'm stumped.

Thanks,

PC

Link Shows what I'm speaking of.

If the download is a zip, rename .zip to .wba, if you are just getting the folder, zip it then rename to .wba.

If what your downloading comes as a .zip file, try clicking on it and see if it shows all the files. If it does that, rename the extension to .wba and that should give you the ability to install it.

Hey WG, this is not the first time, if you gave shorter responses you would be the one getting to the submit button a couple of seconds quicker

Sometimes the wba file [a renamed zip file] will itself be in a zip file...so first thing to do is look inside...if you see a 'wba'...extract it and double click.

If you see a whole bunch of 'stuff'...rename the extension [zip] to 'wba' and double click...

[late, but more complete]...

Well......I got it to work. Renaming the .zip to .wba and clicking on it didn't work.
It just extracted the same as before. I used the "open with" function and chose WindowBlinds and that did it.

I don't know if that's what you meant and I just misunderstood.

Either way, I wouldn't have figured it out without your help.

Thanks again

go to one of your downloaded .wba files, right click on it and choose properties, in the general tab make sure WB is set as the open with default.
