Minimized programs lose their thumbnail

Wednesday, May 31, 2006 by virtualrain | Discussion: ObjectDock

When using the dock to show running programs... Often I will notice that one of my minimized programs on the dock has lost it's thumbnail representation and is now just a normal icon. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there something that can be done to minimize this issue (pun intended). Update: Actually, I've determined that any minimized applications will lose their thumbnail and revert to a normal icon representation if I close any program. To recreate this, open two programs, minimize one and then close the other. The minimized program will lose its thumbnail representation.

I'm also having this problem. Does Stardock plan on fixing this bug in the next release? Using OD1.9+

What programs do this specifically? Also can you send a screen shot?

If you have multiple windows open I know it will revert back to the icon with a number for the total sum of windows open.

Have noticed the same problem. The screenshots disappear when a minimised program is closed. Works perfectly fine in rocketdock. Hope it gets fixed in next release.

I just made a post about this in the wrong forum! You can see that it's now been moved to this one though. But yes, I'm obviously having the same problem (OD 1.90 free, build 536) so you're not alone on this.

Seabass, pretty much any program or window will do this to the dock.

But I did find out a strange thing that makes it work: winamp. It seems that whenever winamp is open, unminimized, and set to not display always on top then the object dock thumbnails will work properly. FYI, I'm using the latest winamp with big bento skin on xp sp2.
