Any Xbox 360 owners here?

I'm seriously thinking about purchasing one. Anybody here have own and would like to share their opinions? I'm also curious how people have theirs setup. I know some people have been using them with their computer monitor.

Well, I purchased an Xbox 360 the day they released and I have to say I think the wait overnight wait was worth it. The graphical power demonstrated by the Xbox 360 is quite impressive. I regularly compare the games that I have on my PC to the games on the Xbox 360 and the Xbox 360 I believe pulls ahead. I own an ATI Radeon X800 XT Platinum Edition video card, which I think is a pretty decent comparison to the Xbox 360, and the Xbox 360 ran smoother. One such case was the game Quake 4. I own it on PC and downloaded the demo for the Xbox 360. Now, even though I'm satisfied and seemingly preaching the Xbox 360, I'm still eager to see the other next generation systems are capable of (Nintendo Wii and Playstation 3). From the some of the footage of E3, I have a feeling is going to be one heck of a battle in the gaming community. To be honest, I would really wait until the other systems are released and get a chance to try each one out for yourself. I know that you have to wait on these incredible systems, but I think it'd be the smartest choice before choosing one. Me on the other hand, well I think eventually I'll pick up at least one other next generation system, besides my Xbox 360.

I've had a 360 for a couple months. It is a nice system, especially with HDTV/surround sound. I like the integrated wireless controllers and networking. One of the best features is the simple fact that you can turn the unit on/off from the controller. The headset also plugs right into the controller Simple things, but definitely helps the usability. I also like the integration with Xbox Live. You can see when "friends" join/leave Live and you can invite them to join multiplayer games. I can be playing Oblivion and someone can invite me to play Battlefield. Switch disks and it automatically joins their multiplayer game.
The games are all pretty good, but mostly centered around first-person shooters. I'd like a few games with a higher "Wife Acceptance Ratio" since I have this set up in the living room. Then again, if I can put with with her watching "E, True Hollywood Story", then she can watch me play Oblivion.
I was very hesitant to play the $$$ for the xbox360. The cost seemed very steep for the amount I'd use it. As it turns out I got it as a gift so that solved the problem.

I would definitely recommend it. I got one about a month ago, and have eben having a blast. I play on a regular 27 inch tv, and it's still great (upgrading to a 42 inch sony Wega tv soon, still standard format, but bigger and clearer picture.)
#1 Come time for the PS3 launch, which you won't be able to find for a while after zero day, there will be a ton of awesome killer apps getting released. Gears of War, Halo 3, Lost Planet, etc.
#2 the online support is top notch.
#3 You'll still be able to add a HD-DVD later if you so choose depending on who wins the format wars. However, with the PS3 you'll be forced to blu-ray.
#4 the 360 is starting to get its share of Kid friendly games (if that's important to you)
#5 Dead-Rising

My wife picked me one up last week for graduation. Needless to say, I am in love.
It has been very stable, super easy to set up and get running. The Dashboard is very nice, and I love being able to plug my iPod in and play music or pictures from there, as well as streaming them from my computer. XBOX Live is going to be hard to beat, with a ton of content, demos to download, movie trailers, themes for the dashboard, etc. Arcade is a blast, with numerous puzzle and card style games that you can download and purchase for pretty cheap. In terms of games, there are some really good ones (Oblivion, Burnout Revenge, Call of Duty 2 (3 is on the way), etc.), plus pretty good (though not universal) backwards compatibility. Graphics on the 360 games is pretty amazing, but to be honest, I am not really that big of a graphics whore. Gameplay matters more. Plus, there are some really amazing looking games on the way.
I think the Wii looks very promising as well. But I have my doubts about the PS3. I still think it will be hugely successful, but I won't be getting one.

I just have a normal 27" TV hooked up, but i do have surround sound, and that is great. Wish i could afford a HD TV, maybe one day.
Its a very good system, things noted here are some of my favorites:

This is what is kind of holding me back. I have a 32" regular tv. I plan on getting an HDTV maybe next year, but I was also considering buying an LCD to use as a dedicated game monitor since the tv here always used by the wife or kids. I heard it still looks good on regular tv also.

Save your money and wait for a Wii.
That said, I believe the Xbox360's graphics are sub-par; today's PC's beat it out, as does the PS3. I've also had nothing but problems playing them at various locations. Worst of all, it has a mediocre-at-best game selection.

I have a monster PC (dual core 3.4, sli 7800gtx), and I compared oblivion on both, and honestly, it's hard to really point out any advantage one has over the other.
Today they announced some of the current crop of games are going down a bit ($40) in price for almost the whole EA line-up.
All in all I'd say that the 360, which probably ain't as powerful as the PS3, still has a tremendous advantage in that it's already out with a one year headstart, already has some kick arse games, is cheaper, and has an easier game development cycle. Also, the Wii will be good, but it is going to be very functionally different as a console. IMO, Xbox will remain king of the online consoles.

Island Dog, I've had my 360 since last Christmas. It is truly amazing. I won't like, It over-heated and I had to mail it into M$. But, they paid to and from shipping and sent me a new (refurb) system for no money out of pocket. You can't beat that.
The games, accessories and functionality are amazing. The graphics on my 1080 and my 480 HDTVs are to die for. Though, there isn't really much difference unless you want to sit in from of the tubes and examine with a microscope. Best console of the last 10 years. No doubt. And, I HATED the first M$ XBox, so all of this is saying a lot.
My gamertag is Cynthdivide for all who want to add me to their buddy list, and also check out www.xile.us I have a community forum along with a 360 clan once you get enough posts. (Isn't difficult).

Thanks again. I went to EB Games today and traded in my PS2 and some games. Got a nice credit and bought the 360. Xbox Live is really awesome.

Battlefield 2: Modern Combat is like crack. I can't stop playing it. Xbox 360 is amazing. I play it on a 56" Samsung DLP (HD) and the graphics are jaw-dropping. Advanced Warface is to die for in the graphics dept. but i still prefer BF2.

I just got one about a week ago. I'm really loving it! 
I don't have an HDTV, but I really don't care! It still looks nice. Elder Scrolls IV: is my favorite game so far. Along with Dead or Alive 4, and Full Auto. Great system. I can't wait to see PS3 and Nintendo Wii. I don't have Xbox live yet. It's well worth the $400 one. So many extras.

It's a great all in one solution, and with the extended remote controller you can control Windows mediacenter too

I'm still having trouble getting Windows Media Connect to work with XP. However, I connected with no problem when using my Mac. Isn't that interesting.

I think the Media Connector functionality requires your PC to be running Media Center Edition instead of just normal XP.

No, you can run it with SP2. I have narrowed the problem down to my firewall. If I open up a port through svchost it will work. I'm just not sure if I should do that.

Island, besides PGR and some of the arcade games, what other games you have? I have Madden 06, DOA4, and Burnout Revenge. I'd love to play ya somtime
