Would it be possible to add a "Posted" date to threads
Why do ultra old threads keep getting revived?

I don't know if this would be possible or, if it is, would it be a major pain?
Being relatively new here, I tend to read whatever pops up appearing as a new thread. I know that there are dates on the actual post. I'm referring to a date on the descriptions.
For instance- "Would it be possible to add a "Posted" date to threads" -5/29/06
Any ideas or opinions?

I'm not sure that WOM is getting what you are asking . . because you were not very clear.
Tell me if I am close: In all th methods available to read topics (WC Browser, SDC, direct internet) there is no way of telling when a topic was created until after you click on it. All you see is how long since the last post.
You are wondering if that piece of information could be added to the data provided earlier in the process, like when you load that forum.
If it were an easy change I'd support it. I'd like it more as a user option.
Even better . . . and to go off topic once again . . . a NEWSREADER has that function (and more) built right in. How about a little crossover code?

Thanks Zubaz. That is basically what I was asking/suggesting.
As a side note.... about 75% of the time when I click a thread, it automatically sends me to the last post. If someone has resurrected a year old thread, it appears to be new under this circumstance as the first post that is viewed has a fresh date. Granted, if I always paid more attention to the dates as I scroll up or down a thread, this would be a non-issue. Maybe it is anyways...I don't know. Just thought I'd bring it up.

The feature that takes you to the last place you were in a thread is done with cookies. Clear you cookies and all is new. Old threads ACT new because you don't have a cookie for them.
