A Skinning Community meeting

I'd like to get a virtual (IRC) chat going amonst skinners and wanted to get an idea of what the best time would be. There are a LOT of things going on that we need to go over and we woudl like the skinning community to be involved directly in how things progress. Please let me know what time of day and general best availability so we can try to pick a good time to have it.

Next Tuesday, 6pm EST. Well, that time works for me anyways, cause I can run home from classes in time for that. I dunno, that might not work for many others, since that would be 1am for our friends in the UK. Thats just what I was thinking...

Brad, it's cool that you are making an effort to find a good time . . . but the fact of the matter is that skinning/stardock is global and someone(s) are going to have to shift schedules.
You have stats on IRC usage and WC. Use that to pick your biggest demographic time slot and book it. If someone's into skinnning and it's a big enough deal . . . they'll find a way.
And as long as GR posts the transcript . . . it's all good.
I'd set up an email account for folks who won't be able to attend to send questions to. WC threads for the same topic can quickly disolve into chaos. Leave the address live for a bit after for brilliant follow-up questions.

Thats what WinCustomize needs a newsletter. Then you could just send out the transcript that way, important news, featured skins of the week or bi-weekly or whatever.

If skinning is of sufficient interest to you then 3AM isn't going to be an issue.....[though my wife will likely be frowning a tad]....

Any time after june 16th would be fantastic. Also maybe post a tute on how to use IRC for the people that have never used it before ( i have used it once but had no idea what i was doing)

Are power users and sometime-skiners welcome, too ? Any time when boths sides of the world are alive would be fine.

Well....after about 180 docks I never really thought of myself as a skinner...I just have fun doing it. But....if that qualifies me as a skinner...cool! The only time I'm NOT available is between 10PM and 6AM EST. Other than that I'd be interested in seeing whats happening.

I'd prefer not between 00:00-08:00GMT because then I'd be in my sweet dreams. Unless it's a weekend when often find myself awake until 06:00, but I don't think I'd be fit for a sane conversation.
However, I'm sure I can work something out. What week is this planned for? I got the last week of work next week. After that I'm pretty much free as a bird.

i think the easiest way is to use IRC for this (for those who aren't sure what IRC is) is to use either the Wincustomize Browser or SDC for the IRC chat...just click on the link that says 'Chat', then hit the 'Connect' button, and it connects you directly to Stardocks IRC channel

Well... During the day is good, or in the afternoon/evening time. If its a Friday night or Saturday night i can do it then too...
But I am not very active here, so I probably won't say much. I would like to be active again (its actually part of my schedule LOL). I want to start really making some skins and other junk that maybe someone would like to have.

Out of curiosity, will this be a Journeyman and higher level type thing? Just noticed the old About wincustomize section which talks about such meetings being held for skinners/etc at those levels. Not trying to start an exclusion war, just wondering.

After work around 6-7 pm central time zone or anytime on the week end - pref... after lunch is good.
