A humble request of the skinners
Thursday, May 11, 2006 by Psikotik | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk
1 - Cut back on the vista "everything" About 1/4 of the new logons are vista something
2 - Try other colors, blue is just way to overused.
3 - If possible, when you make a bootskin, make a logon to match, or vice-versa. Matching sets look great.
Keep up the great work, and I hope I didn't offend anybody.

ahem..
I have to agree on the 'blue' part. Unfortunately, they don't all recolor that well either. I have found myself downloading blue skins lately, but they have been unique visions of the colors application and as skeptical as I was when I downloaded them, they look so much better in use than the previews suggest. I have had to go back and look at others I passed over because I didn't like the color. It's the 'XP/Windows/Microsoft' blue I'm sick of.
Fogger, Galaxy2, and mirageweb are three recnet wb's I have come to really like.

Might wanna rethink of that.

As for the rest i'd agree with no. 1 & 3.

1. I love the vista stuff. I have "vistafied" my computer. I did the same thing with Win98; made it look like Windows XP (blue). However, I'd gladly sacrifice all the vista stuff if some good quality, skins with new ideas never before seen were created more often.
2. Blue is good if it isn't overused in a skin. Simple (is that the name?) that comes with WB5 is blue, but it looks great.
3. I have found my perfect bootskin. I run 1024x768. So to me it doesn't really matter, but I know you all count too (lol).
Good points you made
. (there is really an excess of Vista stuff

I wasn't only refering to Wincustomize. Like Po' said, Deviant Art is full of it. Other sites are full of it. Customization packs, icons, images, wallpapers. I don't recall this happening with Windows XP. At least not to this extent. Sites entirly dedicated to Vista have opened up.
Maybe I am just narrow sighted, but I didn't see Macs, or Linux, or XP hype when it was released.
Correct me if I am wrong
