Dock @ bottom of screen jumps around

Almost like it's making space for the hidden taskbar

Thursday, May 4, 2006 by HeadSwim | Discussion: ObjectDock

I'm having problems w/ Object Dock Plus all of a sudden (started b4 1.3). Under no particular circumstances my doc located @ the bottom of my screen (this problem occurrs only w/ this dock) jumps around (normally up) about the height of the standard Windows taskbar. Sometimes any separators I have are left in the normal position while my objects/icons + their backgrounds will do the jumping. A right click on the dock always brings everything back to normal. Anyone else experience this problem? I need all the advice I can get. Thanks!!!

PS> It does seem to happen at random times but... EVERY time a pop up from a task tray item appears (my displayed tray items stay in a bar @ the top/middle of my screen).

Thanks again for any help available.

Go to dock settings, positioning, and then uncheck automatic distance from edge. Set the location slider to where you want it, and the problem is solved. What's happening is that it is trying to keep it above the taskbar automatically, so the popups are making it jump. At least this worked for me. Good luck.

Yep - I sent Support a case on that same issue 2 weeks ago, they haven't responded. I don't know if that means they're too busy fixing it to e-mail me back, or if they are too busy to get to the issue. I'm running OD+ 1.30 build 526u.
