WB Select skin problems and Per Application question
No Buttons in WB Config window with some skins. Per App window is completely blank
Monday, May 1, 2006 by vs9 | Discussion: WindowBlinds
I am a registered user of WB 5. I have two problems.
1. One is that the Per Application window is completely blank in WB Config. Please guide me as it is probably something silly that I have missed.
2. Second, with some WB skins such as Niqu or Ruler, I do not get the close/max/min buttons only in WB config window. Other app windows are OK.
Thanks.

The Niqu skin is at: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/25565636/
Is it alright to use non Wincustomize skins?
Daiwa: How do you add a per app exclusion? My Per App window is just blank. (Sorry, I dont know how to post a screen capture bmp)
Thanks

Start by clicking the 'add per application setting' button, then browse to the .exe to exclude
yes, it's alright to use a non WC skin

As long as it is a "WindowBlinds" skin.
And, I remember now that SkinStudio is the one app that should be there in the per app exclusion list by default (even though it gets skinned anyway, but that's a different discussion).

I thought Neil said it wasn't supposed to be excluded. I noticed if I highlight it a choose modify per app, nothing happens. Maybe if it's really excluded you can't test your skin?

Partial success!! Solved problem 1. My system fonts were Arial. Somehow that blocked out the bottom half of the window on WB Config. I changed the system fonts to MS Sans Serf and now that part works good.
But I still have problem #2. Namely No buttons on some skins

You must never change the system font as it impacts dialog sizing in many apps. That is why it is MS Sans Serif and not Tahoma on XP.
The missing buttons are probably a skin bug. WBconfig has a minimize and close button, but no maximize button and it may be the skin author never considered that case.

I don't know about number 2.
