Last time I checked (recently, in the last month or so), the site http://www.xymantix.com/sysmetrix/ listed in my v3.40 of the program, yielded this when the Update button was clicked:
HTTP/1.1 302 Moved Temporarily
Content-Length: 0
Location: http://www.xymantix.com/sysmetrix/changelog.txt?ABCDEFGH

I believe I saw a statement that the program is going to be unsupported from now on. I'll miss it if it falls by the wayside, but I'm transitioning via a lot of Widgets for Desktop X and Gadsgets form the Gadgets site that do the job just as well. I will miss the easy tweakability of Sysmetrix, tho, where I can D/L a theme and swap parts between different themes (for my own use only!)

I wish Xymantix all the best, and a hearty thanks for the years with the program.

I'm fairly certain it was Neil Decker/xymantix who announced the cessation of support, on his site, the last time the link was valid. I will miss the program if it fades away like others have. Meanwhile, I hope to be able to continue to use sysmetrix for a while to come, as I have become quite fond of it and its many faces and features.

As far as "bloat", I, too, have had to fend off my share of mischief, more and more [Grrr!] I'm reminded of that scene in Matrix, the movie, when the good guys are all in the ship, hiding from the squid-critters 'til they lose interest and leave.

Every time my kids say "google", my hackles raise...what my folks had to go thru in the '60s has come back! LOL!

Thanks for checkin' around y'all ... it is kinda' sad to have to say au revoir to a fine system. Still, I wonder if anyone might have saved the installer for the program. I have Sysmetrix3 (alas, the old version). If anyone did save it - would you mind sharing the file?
Thx

Nicholas has put out v3.41, up from my present v3.40 !

Version 3.41
Added the ability to launch a new theme via a button to turn on/off media sections
Added ability to get email from GMail via SSL (pop.gmail.com)
Added statistical information to the tooltips for interactive buttons that deal with the recycle bin or email
Added ability to Minimize SysMetrix to the SysTray via the SysTray right click menu
Added the ability to let an object be part of multiple modules instead of restricting it to just one module
Updated the CPU Histogram in the SysTray to update regardless if SysMetrix has been minimized to the SysTray
Updated the SysMetrix version in the about box to only use one decimal
Fixed a problem where the Mouse Enter/Exit could cause SysMetrix to get into an endless recursive loop
Fixed a problem with animations that used .bmp files
Fixed a problem with animations that used .png files where it would blink at the loop mark
Fixed a problem where the multistate image frame could be off by one for times

While we're on the subject of SysMetrix; if you (anyone) likes this program, then give some thought to throwing a donation Nick's way (via PayPal).......they'll only let him stand in that bread line so long.....

I'm just pulling Jafo's chain Nicholas [Decker] has really gone the extra mile with this app. He's been around a long time, with updates, support, skins, the whole nine yards. I'd heard the site was no longer going to be as active, and that support for the product no longer updated. I may have heard/read it at the site, it may have been a case of neither brain cell finding the other for a moment...
...Xymantix is alive and updating! Donations, of course! Guidelines?: My kids go to a birthday party, a present for the guest of honor $20; chow for four at Ye Ol' FastFood $20. I coded a Tic-Tac-Toe game in VB 6 once, it took me days to make it work. Time's money, pay the man, it's well worth it.
