Firefox URL Text Not Showing Up?

I was just browsing the internet one day, and my firefox crashed. I loaded it back up, and suddenly the text in my URL locator bar doesn't get displayed @_@.

I can still load websites; everything works like normal. I can get the bar to update if I copy a URL into the bar. Then it will update the URL as I browse that particular website. But if I go to another site, the bar keeps the last URL displayed.

I have tried switching themes, rebooting my computer, everything I can think of... except a fresh install. I don't know if that will reset all my extension customization, or maybe get rid of them entirly.

Has anyone else had this problem? And if so, how did you fix it ? Also, I ma using the newest FF (1.5.0.2).

Nope, hadn't seen this. The first extension tool I make sure I have is Mr Tech Local Install - then I download and save extensions and MrTech to install them, then I move the downloaded ones to a file in case I have to do a fress install.

Mr Tech Local Install kicks ass . I can say ass here right . Guess I kinda just did... twice . Anyway, thanks for the name of that tool Bicher .

A fresh install is what I will have to do it seems .

About Opera... I tried it, but never really got used to it. After tweaking my Firefox to be so user friendly, it's hard to switch . And as for IE... *runs*...

I must thank my mom . I went downstairs for a drink, and while getting one, told her about the problem. I told her how I had to re-install firefox. She told me to use IE cause all those plug-ins I use probably messed something up. Then it hit me. So I disabled all the plugins using the Mr Tech Local Install. Sure enough, the URL text was back .

Re-enabling 4 plug ins at I time, I was closing in on the faulty plugin. Gspace. A plugin that sorta makes my gmail account like an FTP server. I use it all the time, but I'd rather send things to my gmail the hard way than reinstall firefox .

So now thanks to all of you (and my IE loving mom) I am saved . Woot ^__^
