Desktop color keeps changing

Hello,
I'm using WindowBlinds 5 and the light-blue II theme.I want to change the desktop color to black. I can make the change but when I leave the machine unattended for about ten to twenty minutes the background changes back to the the theme's color, ( blue in this case). I thought it may be related to the power scheme I was using but I tested that theory and it's not related. The same thing happend when I power the machine up. I have to manually make a change to the background color.
Any Ideas?
