Aura Tasbar Not Skinning Correctly

Clear Taskbar Is Foggy

Wednesday, March 29, 2006 by WebGizmos | Discussion: WindowBlinds

Normally the Aura skin would be clear...as you can see in the screenshot... http://members.tripod.com/mrnatural3/AuraGlitch.JPG ...but if you look at my taskbar at the bottom it is foggy for some reason. Is there a setting I'm missing somewhere or is there a file missing somewhere?

Any suggestions as to why this is happening would be most appreciated!

The blurry taskbar is how that skin should look.  The preview in wbconfig does not show the blur, but the skin has been set to blur the taskbar.

It didn't look like that before though...it was clearer and looked much better. Is there a way to unblur it?

I think the skin was (re)built to have the blur. It's more Vista-like. I would think that a sub-skin would be required (or an edit in SkinStudio). Dunno for sure, it's too new.

Hey Zubaz...hows the little one?

Well I hope there is a way to undo this blur effect...I liked the skin much better when it didn't do this...I think this blur effect looks crappy. And its doing this to several skins.

And the preview should be representative of what the skin looks like on the desktop. The preview looks tons better than what the taskbar looks like now.

Miriam is much better, thanks. Today's picture at the bottom of this thread: https://www.wincustomize.com/Forums.aspx?ForumID=189&AID=110161 . I am amazed at her healing.

I like the blur. But I'd like the option. Seems like it's be a natural sub-skin. But then again, I've never made a skin, so what do I know?

Well, hopefully Neil will let us know how to disable this blurring effect.

To get the taskbar back to original you need to open the skin in Skinstudio. Select taskbar...go to the code tab...find BACKGROUND EFFECT under Taskbar.Horz and Taskbar.vert. Change the background effect setting from 10 to 1. Save and apply.

Hey WG, thanks for this post, had not used Aura since it was updated, I like the blurry taskbar.

If the blur is that bad for you, only use this skin after 5 or 6 beers then all will look fine.

The aura skin has not actually been changed, it just had the blur style set and WB previously did not have it implemented.  Now it does, so the blur turned on.

Personally I like the blur on the taskbar.

A slider that controls that blur in WB config would rock.

The blur looks ok on some skins...but I like the clear setting better in Aura. But now I know how to change it either way. And yes...a slider control would be great! But all is well Neil!

When I tried to edit the Aura skin setting to undo the blur on taskbar with the free addition of Skin Studio I got the message saying the sking was copy wrighted. Am I doing something wrong here?

Thanks.

It says that on most skins since they are copyrighted. But you can still edit the skin. After you do the edit click on save and then re-apply the skin.
