Windowblinds v5 doesn't work

ok, i've used windowblinds v4 without any problems, but now since all new skinds are in wb5 format, i decided to install it.
Install went fine. I went to the XP default theme before installing.
But now i can't apply any skins.
When i click Apply Skin, it changes my theme to windows classic then nothing happens.
HELP!

no i didn't uninstall 4 first...
i uninstalled 5 again and i'll re-install and paste the sys info tomorrow:)

You must had uninstall it first -- and what version of WB you are using?

The install for WB5 should have a built in procedure for detecting a previous version and uninstalling it if it's known to have issues with multiple copies. This is how all software installs work... why can't WB5's?

Having an older version of WB installed should not impact WB.

Then why do I get this message when I click the install button for WB5 in SDC?
"A previous version of WindowBlinds has been found on your computer. You must uninstall this version before you continue.
Do you want to uninstall now?"

did you uninstall 4 1st?
in WB configure is a 'system information' on the left - click it and copy/paste the info here
