text cut off in some buttons

Tuesday, March 7, 2006 by leafdesigner | Discussion: WindowBlinds

I have instructed WB to increase skin fonts by 20%, which works fine (I prefer larger text on the menus). However, I notice that text on some buttons is cut off. Is there a way to control the size of the button font independently of the menu font? For an example of what this looks like, here's a URL:

BTW- I noticed that even using the default font size, some text was cut off on certain buttons. The skin I'm currently using is Steve Grenier's Mac OSX Tiger. However, I have noticed this same problem with other skins, as well.

That is the nature of the beast. You can't adjust the buttons based on the text. Button sizes are typically set so the font will write as much as it can fit on that button.
The only thing you can try is changing the font in windowblinds settings to a small font like ariel, MS sans/ segoi UI. No matter what, you will have problems with fonts increased 20%.
Or, change your resolution.

That's too bad. I am using Lucida Sans- which I really like the look of. It looks great on the menus. Guess I'll just have to put up with the occasional cut off text in a button.
