Linking Google Desktop Search to OD

Tuesday, February 7, 2006 by homejames | Discussion: ObjectDock

Downloaded the Flyakite OSX3 mod a couple of days ago, and finally made an attempt in replacing my Taskbar etc. with OD. Loving the style and feel of it very much, and think it really sets off flyakite's great work!

There is one slight problem, though: I tried integrating my Google Desktop Search (GDS) into the OD, linking the .exe file of GDS with the icon etc. Still, GDS won't launch - there seems to be some activity on the system, but nothing happens.

Do I maybe need to fill in some arguments, or switch off GDS at Startup, or something like that (and if it's the latter, will GDS continue indexing my HD in idle-time?). Or am I maybe just short-cutting to the wrong .exe-file?

Hope someone can help! Thanks!

Hah! Am well proud of myself now! Without any skills with programming or the likes, I solved the problem all by myself.

Should anybody else be wondering how to do it:
Shortcut your GDS-icon on your dock to the GDS.exe-file. In the arguments field fill in "/homepage" (without quotation marks). That should do the trick - at least it did for me!
