The 1600 x 1200 resizes to 1024 x 768 without loosing the aspect ratio. When submitting so many resolutions, each element in the PSD needs to be resized accordingly, so if you have ten layers, each one has to be done separately which takes alot of time and work. Otherwise the picture is out of proportion. I try to do the most popular sizes that can conveniently be resized for your monitor. I just hate it when I download something and it has not been resized correctly and is completely distorted on my screen resolution.
