Actually, I'm not a Winamp user, so I had never seen the Vision skin until I read your comment. Now that I've looked at it, I see there is a definite resemblance between Vision's visual style and the style of Blackbar. (It's a cosmetic resemblance; Vision appears to have significantly different functionality than Blackbar, but I can't tell for sure without installing Winamp.)

The explanation for this is pretty obvious. I'm sure the creators of Vision did exactly the same thing I did (and I have no problem admitting): They imitated the look and feel of Windows Media Player 11. Not that this is easy -- I'm sure that they put a lot of effort into their skin, just as I put a lot of effort into Blackbar. I hope you enjoy using it!

Guys, you don't need to download this, it's already built into the taskbar. With the new WMP, right click on taskbar, go to Toolbars and choose Windows Media Player. Next when you minimize WMP, almost the exact same thing shows up (only smaller) on the right side of the tasbar. Same controls only no volume (little button popups up volume slider) and no title etc (shows when you hover over it in a small box), and the same skin. So, this is basically just moving something to the title bar that's already built in, and then making controls already there a little more prominent, so it is twice as wide ...

Yeah, I was a big user of the Taskbar mode of Windows Media Player, but I became frustrated with its combination of limited features and high cost in taskbar real estate. So I created Blackbar to (hopefully) address its shortcomings. If Taskbar mode works for you, great! If not, I hope you enjoy using Blackbar.
