OldMsgt - The problem with changing the text to a darker colour is that it will change the colour on all the rest of the menu bars & toolbars making them difficult to read, I do not want two change the feel of the whole skin, IE8 is just one application, where as darker text would impact onWidows explorer & several applications, the thing I do not understand is why your menu bar is unreadable & my 2 computers, each with a different OS are OK.
As to the 3 text labels on the command bar, I cannot find the settings which change their colour. I have looked at a lot of skins & some of them have the same problem. One of the skins that I looked at has dark text on these labels, a different colour from the rest, so I thought if I looked at the normal state settings I would find which setting controls these labels., but none were set to that colour.
I have spent 2 days trying to sort this problem & have posted a query in the skinning forum &, as yet, I have not managed to solve it.

Thanks to Xiandi, who has come up with the answer to this problem, all text on the menu bar & command bar of IE8 should now be readable, it is on my computers. Thanks Xiandi.

I would suggest instead of outlining the white text just make the text a dark colour, and then outline the tab the text is in
