I've got a little question. Why is everything dead in the foreground and so alive in the background. It's a beautiful scene, but I was just curious?

Because some things die before others do and some plants loose their leaves first and others later. Or simply because that is where my imagination took me. Call it artistic license for lack of a better explanation.
