White on the Right, Queen always goes on her own color.
A little research goes a long way.
Basically the board is setup sideway.
For some reason this is the case 95% of the time a chessboard
is used in any type of ad as well.

A little research goes a long way.
I wasn't actually setting up the board for the Grand Masters Chess Final, I was just making a wallpaper. I deliberatly flipped and rotated board in PS to get better lighting on it.

~~Seeing that buzzh58 has beaten my ass in every chess game we have played in 6 years - I think he knows what piece goes on what square...this is a decorative WALLPAPER for a desktop. Not a place to play chess nor is it an "Ad"
I see you joined the site on Feb 24 2007..... my oh my - what did we do without your opinions before..

Good for you. The board is setup the same way for Grand Master or beginner: but I get ur point.
I was merely joining the thread where the white on the corner was pointed out but not the queen
on her own color thing which is perhaps a more subtle aspect of the setup.
The idea that it's wallpaper was not "lost" on me at all. But it certainly looked like you were going for
a more "official look" being the board set ti go at the beginning and not something more abstract.
BTW, I love the entire look of the artwork!
As for Fairy, let me begin my bowing my head in shame as I did not know how powerful
thou art just by being active here since 2004 and that your early registration basically
makes anything I could ever post, meaningless and below your awesome powers.
The referrence to seeing this mistake in ad's was merely an observation, like "wow" this
always seems to be wrong when you actually have a 50/50 chance of getting it correct
(albeit in the eyes of the anal like me).
Also, I basically stated fact, not opinion. And I would say the research comment
is an accepted adage, again not an opinion,.....but oh thats right, I just started here,
I'm sure that your powers are more supreme since you've been here longer.
So let me ask you, If you install a brand new spell checker, and it stops at a typo,
is it any less correct because it was "just" install?
Anyway, don't really take anything anyone posts around the internet too seriously, especially by me.
Your art work IS wonderful, and Fairy, yes my comment was open to a retort.
Have fun with this one, I feel so ashamed at my neebieness here that I am removing my
account from every forum on the internet, see ya in 10 years.
Oh By the way, I invented the Internet, so I own you!

Pengfixx it would have been nice if you'd mentioned something like that in your original post instead of just babbling on about the rights and wrongs of the board set-up.
Criticism is fine and doesn't worry me in the least but your sarcasm toward my friend does. Fairyy~ does more to help "newbies" on this site than most but I dont think I need to justify myself or my friend to you.
Like the wall, dont like the wall, makes no difference to me. Leave Wincustomise or dont, again, makes no difference to me. Negative people like you come and go.
See ya around.
