Desktop X keeps crashing by loading a desktop

hello,
my desktop x keeps crashing when i want to load a new desktop. i had a problem with a custom desktop from wincustomize and my computer nearly freezed complete. i did a restart and then desktop x refuses to start. i got the following message that desktop x is not able to start because of some things which not working properly and if i want to open this desktop anyway or start with a new one.
no matter what i type, desktop x crashes then by giving me the typical windows error. "we encountered a problem ..blabla"
maybe someone can help me?

Many of the older ones are "less than compatible" than newer.
