Animated Gifs In FF

Saturday, January 28, 2006 by PoSmedley | Discussion: Internet

Why aren't the animated gifs that are posted in the forums 'animated' when I use Firefox. They're animated in WC Browser and IE. Is there a setting I am missing or is this just FF? I have FF 1.5.

Also, I really like FF but am confused with 1.5. I saw in another post that it has reached 1.65??? and mine doesn't seem to be updating automatically like it should...or has there been no updates?

1.5 is current. 1.5.0.1 will be out in the next couple of weeks. Check your firewall; make sure mobile code is not enabled for FF and that any animation privacy settings are turned off.

I have ZA. I don't know what the mobil code thing is. Are the animation privacy settings part of the firewall or FF?
I wouldn't think it would be my firewall if I can see the animations running in IE and WC Browser, but I could be wrong. As you can see, this is not my area of expertise.

In ZA Program Control/ Programs; highlight Firefox and click options at bottom right of Panel. Un-check 'Enable Privacy for this Program'.
