Possible To Change System Tray Icons?

Wednesday, January 25, 2006 by HendrixJr | Discussion: Icons

I've always wondered on how I could change my sytem tray icons. (Even the open program icons) Some of them really look dull if you've looked closely. If anyone knows how to change them gimme a type i'll be glad to read any suggestions. Cheers

Hi there, I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure those icons are compiled deep within the program, and not changeable. You can always use ObjectDock or something else though, and get rid of you tray altogether.

Some programs you can edit the resources with a program called Resource Hacker. Can't remember the link off the top of my head, but you can try to do a google search for it. There are some good tutorials around the net. Do a search for WinT for those.

Make sure you do your homework if you choose to use this program. If you don't use it correctly you can screw up the program, or the system.
