| That SkinBase.org site is full of pop-ups, pop-unders and I even got link to a porn site |
I am a member at Skinbase and I have never seen any pop-ups or any of the things you say you got there. Sounds like you have some spyware on your computer that the program you use didn't catch or find.

Zone Alarm Pro, Spybot, Pest Patrol, AdAware Plus, AVG7 Pro anti virus, MS anti spyware, and also Fire Fox which is much better at blocking those kinds of things than IE. Perhaps you still have some spyware that have left you open to attack. Not all spyware progs catch everything. You need an arsenal these days if you want to safely surf the web.

but tell this to the owner of Skinbase, who has no incomings other than those pop-ups and many expenses ang hard work for the skinning community to have one more site, where we can visit and download what the authors are offering for free or upload our works...
Though, I understand that an objective opinion it is not that easy as a self-centered opinion.

The site wasn't getting an outlandish amount of activity back then and, well, I kind of forgot about the place....
Anyway, until I remembered that I was a member I was experiencing a completely intollerable amount of ads, pop ups, crashes, etc. I understand the need, but the extreme that has been chosen is so counter productive it isn't funny.

I understand completely, the need for revenue. Your choice is..have ads or don't have a site. Part of the reason Skinartistry is closing (small part) is funding. Only a few kind people find it in their heart to donate. Sites CANNOT survive on donations. Damned if you do, damned for eternity if you don't.

Now we got an age for Nikos, he just turned 18
My turn to turn 19 but not as in the song 19, maybe the tune, turn, turn, aging as a newbie but I keep young by staying a newbie I guess if theres a chance for that hehe. Btw I think, the more opinions you get in a thread, the more interesting. And its not automatically a rant. Tx, Cindy for saying the good things, and all of you - happy winter or new year, whatever, or both. For me whats new is seeing this year good sites are helping each other - and the rest, not even a topic much more...
It seems possible to help and take in several places, in fact thats happening so well + fast Im challenged enough by keeping up with the good aspects everywhere and cleaning up hopefully harmless first steps of my OWN in the past, wow.
In the skinning or art world, even tool field there seems to be a certain extent of freedom, in fact, (and limits), but everyone CAN make their pick without HAVING to inside of that freedom range (or is it just these new eyeglasses I stumbled on the other day?).
(makes secret note about popunders being a bit more agreeable cause u dont click em that fast by mistake, another thing, hmmh)Please login to comment and/or vote for this skin.
