Cursor XP install help

I have always used the cursor themes that selfinstall when double clicked, I just downloaded some cool themes but they are in zip folders with a bunch of different files, no clue how to install them. Can anyone please help?

Rename the zip part of the file to CurXPTheme ... example skin.zip gets renamed skin.CurXPTheme. Then you can double click to install. More info can be found here in the "Tips For New Users" thread...

I tried that. The files I have are PNG files ( the cursor graphics) and a "Scheme" file, they are all in a zip folder.

Then my suggestion should work. A CurXPTheme file is nothing but a renamed zip file.....

Ive posted this a couple of times before - no one noticed it - If you have a compression program on your machine like Winzip , where Winzip is associated with your compressed files instead of the windows zip program built into XP , you wont run into these problems when downloading your favourite stuff. It only happens when you have no compression utility installed on your machine , other then the built in one in windows.

I use Firefox as Sir B said it gets it right, just tested IE as have ObjectZip installed, part of Object Desktop subscrip. It also solves the IE SP2 zip isssue as Jason says WinZip does.

Opera doesn't get confused either....... or maybe it's the fact that I've always used a 3rd party archiver. ZipCentral, IZArc, or similar.

I'm assuming what you have are the folders containing the images?
Wouldn't you be able to either create the cusrsor with cursorxp from the graphics ..or
put the folders in the cursorxp /Themes folder and see if they show up when you open cursorxp. Maybe the file you need is in the folders?
