DX object needed...

Sunday, December 18, 2005 by ToeJo | Discussion: Requests

Could I talk anyone into making a Hard Drive light widget or DX object. When my laptop is in it's dock it cover up the hard drive activity light. It would be incredibly helpful to have an indicator o the desktop, or even better, in the system tray to indicate hard drive activity.

Thanks a bunch...

Here is one link to a basic disk-activity widget: https://www.wincustomize.com/ViewSkin.aspx?SID=1&SkinID=80&LibID=34&comments=1

Thanks...but it doesn't indicate activity. I need it to blink when the disk is seeking files.

Very odd. I thought that widget did monitor activity, but apparently not.

I don't know of any other DesktopX widgets that could do this--but they may exist.

If you use ObjectDock or AveDesk, and also have SysStats https://www.wincustomize.com/ViewSkin.aspx?SID=1&SkinID=4271&LibID=29&comments=1
then there is a docklet called ActiveDisk https://www.wincustomize.com/ViewSkin.aspx?SID=1&SkinID=4273&LibID=29&comments=1
which I know works because I made two skins for it, available here https://www.wincustomize.com/ViewSkin.aspx?SID=1&SkinID=7522&LibID=29&comments=1
