Help!! WB is messing up my computer!! (with screenshots)
I don't know what to do anymore... I tried everything!

I have been using WB5 for about 4 days now and I haven't gotten any types of errors, whatsoever, up until a few hours ago.. I didn't even do a thing! I was using Mormegil's ChristmasTime theme (and ran it for 4 days without errors), then when I decided to come to WinCustomize.com to browse for new Objects and such, my computer hung up on me! I don't know if that had anything to do with my visiting wincustomize.com, but it couldn't have been a virus or a spyware because I just performed a general maintenance on my computer a few hours earlier (and I have been doing that since January).. Then I restarted my computer using the button on my CPU and when I entered my Windows XP account, the entire "start" bar below (the whole thing, not just the start button, but the entire bar -- sorry, i have no idea what it's called) didn't even show up! The only thing that showed up was the digital clock, and that's it.. Ok, hold on.. I don't know where I'm going anymore. I think it's better if I just show you a screenshot and maybe you can just help me out and tell me what's wrong (also, I tried uninstalling+re-installing WB5, but apparently, that didn't fix my problem)..

That's my whole screen.. No "start button" and the entire "bar" at the bottom of the screen is messed up! WB also got rid of my Windows XP theme.. I tried accessing through desktop/right-click/bah blah but then that didn't work.. all it's showing me is nothing (sorry, I'm really, really sleepy and i have been trying to fix this problem since 5 PM (and now it's about (9:00).. so, that should explain why my grammar is skewed. i haven't even eaten yet!) I tried righ clicking on "My Computer" and going to "Manage" / "Services" / etc. (as one poster explained in another thread), but that didn't work -- it didn't bring my Windows XP theme back..
Please help me! I am totally clueless about what's going on! And once again, excuse the grammar. I'm typing this up real fast because I'm about to collapse.. 
I really hope you guys can help me! Please!

This issue is caused by the cracked version of WindowBlinds. Don't run the cracked version of WindowBlinds and this won't happen.

Are you going to purchase Vista? Or will that just be an 'update' that you're not willing to pay for...
(Just a note... you get access to ALL skins when you purchase ANY Stardock product, so dont go on about that.)
(Another note: Initial subscription is one year, but subsequent renewals are two years.)

I also "like" the people arguing that "poor" people have no chance than piracing software. They have, simply don't use it. And WindowBlinds is no essential software like a word processor might be. I also can't afford a Ferrari, no matter how attractive I might find it...
As for the Update costs : I can easily see that WindowBlinds is not the only pirated Software on their machines, as they obviously never had to pay for a Windows, Office or Corel/Photoshop update.

I'm in Poland and I've bought it, been buying it (OD subscription) for nearly 6 years. It seems the latter (i.e. no cash) seems to be the problem for you. Even so, if you can afford a PC and net access in Poland (both rather expensive goods), 60PLN isn't exactly a huge amount of money.

I have the original windowblinds 5 and the pirated one...
just to check some things
1. I tried installing that illegal software it worked fine...after I copied the shit in the xxx.xxx.xxx.folder and made the copy work with renaming some file you all know that dll
well restartet -worked fine- loaded up and automatically applied oneset of the themes...there was another vistaskin in the illegal Folder I used it and all worked check these skins all fine...
well after some days it broke like the others in this forum was saying (Black start bar) without (start button)and the computer seemed too hang for proper cpu speed...well this sucked
I uninstalled the illegal copy and tried removing those registry Keys
well on my HKEY_CURRENT_USER/software/stardock/windowblinds/there some Keys i cant delete!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I dont know why but even in save mode I cant delete the folder wb5 with the wb5.ini in it and that standart key...they just wont let them remove (adminstrator) the same shit
I can know understand the other illegal Users cause they will have to reinstall their system to make it go away tried several programs to remove but they all failed...its surely not the crack that made this!

ok installed the trial again worked fine (windowblinds 5 public) but no glass support...maybee you guys could change that for the new users that are trying to experiment with the produkt... without that support the software is useless too buy
ok Now to my actually problem ...
uninstalled all that mess of Stardock and Warez to finally install my Legaly bought software BUT WHATS THAT AFTER THE INSTALL I HAD THE SAME FREAKING PROBLEM LIKE THE OTHERS ON THIS FORUM BLACK START BAR NO SKINNING AND AGAIN CPU SLOW MO SPEED
IM REALLY REALLY PISSED AT THIS POINT AND VERY MUCH CONFUSED
IM WRITING THIS CAUSE I ALLREADY FORMATED MY SYSTEM ABOUT 4$TIMES AND STILL THER SAME SH.....T cant get it back to work no way
I hope it didnt broke my graphicscard if it did I will write one smeeling message up to Stardock and wantREVENGE!!!!
somebody might help but stop buggin me with those illegal copy messages I have the correct version I paid per MASter card

The trial does support glass on the included skins to give people a taste of the feature.
If you are still having this problem with a purchased copy, please e-mail [email protected] from the e-mail address you registered WB with and include the information from the System Information page in wbconfig.

well i think bk334572 was trying to say that per Pixels wont work on the PUBlic Version(trial)
glass is not supportet the taskbar and other bars...wont load
maybee you stardock guys can fix that
Anyway the software is cool but not that much has changed...
I bought several copys of stardock and I know the registry and shit...
im no big fan of paying for every new version or even upgrading for stuff like this 4 real you guys get enough money for doing this dont you!?
well 4 bk334572 your and everybody elses Problem with the Black shitty startbar can be solved by just deinstall Windowblinds 5 illegalwarez copy and restart..ass prompted
after deinstllation clear the registry by search for stardock...
press F3 to search for the next one until its telling you that ithas checked all the mess 
NOW 4 all of you WindowsShoppers
1.dissconect any online activity,disconnect any cables to your online modem or else wireless Lan just go offline and remove the Card
2.go to your system clock change Date know Reinstall do whats wtrittin down in the info or readme then press restart after changing the dll
IT will work without any problems if the Date is correct and if the PC or Lap is offline and no cables are connectet to the PC Laptop ect Wireless disconnect aND REMOVE CARD IT will work 100%
sorry that I had to write this down but i simply had to cause this is the first time that a stardock board is liyng to me about there software and im pissed like everybodyelse on this board ...you were saying its the crack that causes trouble? NO its Stardock !!wich is pissed that normaly kids have cracked & broken their famous incredible shields to defend the software and 4 those that bought it it will not make any diffrence So why Stardock why are you liyng to your Users?just answer that question
I love your software but I hate lying Companys
Its Not always about the money it s about people knowing your product and how many using it and how they like it and talk over it this will give your Company probs ever thought about this people that are telloing others and so on how great this piece of software is...next time dont tell stuff like its the crack tell us its US we dont want you illegal user to USE this software thats why we made a little somethin somethin up to ...you know best thanks and goodbye

well I just treid to bring the cracked version to work but it was crashing all the time could not remove registryKeys thats all but thanks anyway I guess some people will thank you for your interest in Software development but others wont Im very thankful likealways of course but I think I will stick to my Windowblind 5 in the legal way
I treid to help once then my siystem crashed( i will never ever try again LOL) I had enough trouble removing the shit again so I wont start over MUHAHAHAHAHA go and buy yourself the real copy of blinds you should stay without trouble oh yeah

Pass mal auf Du kleiner Schwachkopf, an Deiner Stelle wäre ich ganz ruhig, sonst bist Du hier schneller weg vom Fenster als Du Deinen Schnuller wieder in den Mund stecken kannst. Was soll die Scheisse ? Wen hier einer keine Ahnung hat, dann Du ! Hippy ist einer der 10 besten Skinner überhaupt und hat schon WindowBlinds geskinnt als Du noch mit der Trommel um den Weihnachtsbaum gelaufen bist. Und er ist Moderator hier. Ganz abgesehen davon, dass man sich als Deutscher hier für Deinen Auftritt nur schämen kann. Zu viel Sido gehört oder was ?
Es besteht für Stardock absolut kein Anlass, sich dafür zu rechtfertigen, dass irgendein Crack Ihre Software unbrauchbar macht...

i can't say for sure that my Explorer not working is due to WB or the patched Windowblinds either one. i was also deleting a virus i obtained a while back (using SP1 without AV or firewall. i know it's stupid but my computer is too slow to run a bunch of stuff in the background) and some related stuff in my registry and may have messed something up. but when i rebooted and it was obvious that WB's painting was so slow, i naturally connected the two.
Just an observation......
