tell me why

I have downloaded and installed the very latest driver; tell me why per-pixel won't work!!!

WindowBlinds 5.0 System Information Report:

STATUS : WB+ SRV+ HLP+ UI+ TRAY+

WindowBlinds is installed correctly on this PC.

WindowBlinds appears to be activated on this PC

Your machine does not support per pixel borders on WindowBlinds skins.

This is because :

Your computer graphics hardware does not support acceleration of per pixel alpha. WindowBlinds requires this for per pixel alphablended borders as without it performance would be poor. Please see if you can obtain new drivers for your graphics hardware. Recent ATI & NVIDIA boards should support this feature. Onboard graphics tend not to.

You have one monitor in total.

(Monitor Plug and Play) 1 is attached to Gigabyte RADEON 9200SE SERIES

Sorry to jump in, after seeing your System Info report, my wblind.dll was dated 2005/11/28 so I requested a new registered download, just installed it yet I'm still on the same dated versions as before???

How do I get updated enhanced builds please?

Many thanks

Fedorov.

Stardock Cental.  Download it and it'll allow you to update WB directly instead of always submitting a download email.

You also might try an older driver 5.9 or 5.8.

I remember seeing a comment in a thread (perhaps the "WindowBlinds 5 now available" article), where someone running a 9200 series found that the older driver was per-pixel blending compatible.

I have a 9200 SE, using catalyst 5.8, per pixel is supported. If running res higher than 1152x864, no transparent window frames, so this means cannot use 1280xwhatever. At 1280xwhatever the window frames are the only per pixel lost, all other per pixel features still work. I think that the 9200 cards are the bottom limit for per pixel support.

Just did something I just found on another thread. If you have driver disc that came with video card, uninstall current drivers and control panel, install drivers off disc. I am now running at 1280x1024 with transparent window frames.
