SD Central Updates

Not Updating?

Thursday, December 8, 2005 by dave86 | Discussion: Stardock Support General

I have SD Central set so that it searches for updates as soon as I turn on my computer. For a few days in a row, whenever I turn the computer on, it has told me that SD Central has been updated to version 2.19c[b].159...so I click on the message to update. Nothing at all happens, however, once I've opened SD Central (by that I mean no updates to SD Central, everything else behaves fine). I checked the information in SDC, and it says I have version 2.20.357 build 103. In addition, whenever I mouse over the system tray icon for SDC, it tells me that it has been updated. The next time I sign on, however, it prompts me to update again.
I have 'show pre-release versions' checked, could this have anything to do with it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you go to "Tools > Settings" in SDC, you can select "Check for Stardock Central Release updates on startup" and "Prompt before updating Stardock Central" - then click "OK".

This will set SDC to prompt you only when there is an official "Release" version update for SDC, and will not prompt for beta's.

Version 2.20.357 is the latest "Release" version, so you are good to go for a while. Having "Show pre-release versions" selected will only apply to the programs offered for install via SDC.
