It's a great software pack, considering MS's reputation with betas. I've been using it since June, and the upgrades they've made have been directly from the user. It's very simple, takes up very little memory. I only had small problem with the Tune-Up. OneCare didn't want to do the Disk Cleanup portion of the Tune-Up because of Bootskin and/or CursorXP startup. If anyone has a problem with this, run "mscongig" and remove thesse from startup. Reboot. Run "msconfig" again and put them back into startup, reboot. I don't know why this works, but it did. Had a 2 week correspondence with support until I finally showed all processes and startup to the support. Between the two of us, this is the only things I have running that could cause a conflict. Once, I had removed from startup and rebooted, then returned to normal, everything worked.

I've compared OneCareLive's AV to AVG scans and Avast scans, and it's missed nothing. It works well with MS AntiSpyware and Spybot S&D. It's not as powerful as Norton's Systemworks, but also not as problematic. I recommend trying it out.

The product is in beta stage and they are not currently charging for it. I do not know if they will charge for it in the future. I have been a beta tester for this product from the beginning and am pleased with the progress. The anti-spyware is supposed to be integrated at some point. The product is fairly stable at the moment and features/fixes have been added/improved as a result of the feedback from testers.

You know, I'm in this beta (as well as others) and let me tell you I've had nothing but odd issues. I'm working well with tech support at their end to get problems solved (I'll probably have my own build number lol) but I DO look foward to seeing the final product, especially for those users out there whom have no idea what a update is.

I'm using it as well and am actually suprised at how well it works. Not as bloaty and problematic as Systemworks in my opinion.

I recommend it if you want a nice slimmed down util for A/V, Tune-up and backup

Yes it does. If the OS is so prone to getting spyware and viri and needs all those services to keep it running as it should then it should be free of charge.

After all I already have programs that work great to do all the stuff Onecare does.

Yeah, but you also have to remember that a great deal of the users out there are not as tech savvy as the rest of us. A good all in one product that updates itself AND windows AND helps with backups could do the average user good! One less thing to worry about, and I'm sure a more secure computing experience for the rest of us (less virus problems perhaps?).

Perhaps I should've said that your post contributes little to the topic. I certainly have no control over MS pricing. I am not even sure if I will purchase the One Care Live subscription in the end. I am reporting a fairly positive experience beta testing the software.

Additionally, even those of us that are "tech savvy" often purchase quality software, even if there are free alternatives.

I was going to download it, until it wanted me to uninstall Nortan, which was not going to happen. Plus, it's a beta and I don't know how well it can prevent viruses and spyware and the 2000 attacks that I get daily.
