Hotmail no longer allows free Pop3 access to the mail server. You need to have paid for the service. There are a couple of 3rd-party programs that act as a go between but again, it is not free.

Can u recommend any good 3rd party programs. Would a Gmail account work with this for free? Thanx

Trust me, there is no shortage of Gmail invites in this world wide web. Gmail works flawlessly with Omni Mail 2 for me. Beautiful little widget.

Hi, how do I get a Gmail account. Is it possible to have my hotmail account forwarded to the Gmail account which will then notify me of any Emails...Thanx for the info...

You get a Gmail account by getting an invitation. I have a couple hundred if you want. Email me with the request at peteyDOTjonesATgmailDOTcom and I will get one off to you. About forwarding hotmail, not sure. Some accounts can, some can't. I will play around and see, but my guess is you can't.

Sure it does. I just sent myself an email from my Hotmail account and it made it no problems. Obviously you have to change things a little bit, such as:
DOT=.
AT=@

But it works just fine. I get multiple emails there every day. Try again.

BlueDev:

make it easier - click 'mail' in the reply box and insert it there.

No thanks, that still leaves an address that SPAM bots could harvest. I would rather type it a little mit more confusing.
