I am to subscribe has Windows xp magazine in France and it recommends remove the application of personalization before installing xpSP2, what it is necessary to do it for the stardock application or not? or right them to desactivated only, (or I owe right install the skin by defect for all stardock product like wb,ip,curxp, logonxp).

I never had any problems when updating to sp2. I did not uninstall anything. I don''t know of many others that did as well but it probably can't hurt.

You'll want to "unload" the applications during the install not "uninstall"

They are not talking about Stardock applications when they say to remove skinning apps first.

I would recommend setting Bootskin and LogonStudio to defaults for the install of SP2. It shouldn't be a problem if they are not, but it just ensures things go more smoothly - better safe than sorry

I installed SP2 twice - once during regular Windows Updates - no problems, the second time - I reinstalled SP2 (using a disk) to fix BITS - all I did was unload everything (WB, CursorXP, etc) = SP2 reinstalled with no problems.

There are other customization programs that kinda hack into your system by requiring you to replace files and stuff. Those you probably want to unistall and put everything back to normal first.
