After updating, 3 questions
Tuesday, November 8, 2005 by fabfour | Discussion: DesktopX
1. When configuring object shortcuts there is no longer a shortcut listing for "My Computer." How can I link an object to "My Computer"?
2. How do I rename Icon X icons?
3. I want Icon X to start each time I start up my computer but even though I have the "Run automatically when Windows starts" box checked in Icon X and unchecked in Desktop X, whichever of these two programs was running when I last shut down my computer will always start at start up (i.e. - if I’m using Icon X when I shut down my computer, it will start the next time I start my computer; if I’m using Desktop X when I shut down my computer, it will start the next time I start my computer). How can I get Icon X to always start at start-up (which is how the earlier versions I used worked)?
Thanks.

I also found the reason I couldn't rename the Icon X icons, because I had resized my icons to zoom when moused over, so I had repositioned the text labels and wasn't using the label backgrounds which, for some reason I found remain frozen in the default position and the labels can only be renamed if the mouse is over a background(even though you can't see it). Which brings up a new question: How do I get the label backgrounds to change position when I repositon the text? There seems to be no settings for this and they don't change position automatically when I reposition the text.
Thanks again.

There was a post a while back that may negate this workaround, haven't tried it yet - do a search for iconx
