Make the Dock more useful

Tuesday, November 1, 2005 by Adamness | Discussion: Docks

The main reason I dont use the dock is pretty simple: you cant drag files onto a program in the Dock and have it launch in that program. When you drag a file onto an Icon on the desktop in Windows, or onto an icon in the Mac Dock, it launches in that program.
But in Object Dock, it just adds that file to the Dock. I don't always open the same file with the same program, so I like to be able to drag and drop onto a particular program. Are there any settings that can fix this? Or is there any way to make this change in a new version? Thanks.
