GTK Incompatibility?

GTK Applications crash/lock up when a setting in windowblinds is applied.

Sunday, October 23, 2005 by TheBaronVonJim | Discussion: Bug Reports

There is some incompatibility with windowblinds and GTK. I'm not sure which side causes the error (gtk or WB), so I'll post it here for information anyways.. (and sorry if this is already documented.)

Basically, if any change in settings is applied in windowblinds, GTK applications (OpenOffice, Inkscape, Gaim etc..) will often lock up. Sometimes the lockup stops after a few minutes, sometimes it's permanant and the programs need to be closed via the task manager.

The bug is present both in WB4 and 5. Never tried it on earlier versions. Workaround is just to not apply anything with such applications running, but it's annoying when you accidentally apply something.

Does the same thing happen if you change from the blue XP look to the silver XP look?

I am having the same thign happening with GIMP.

Also, applying from SKS locks up the machine sometimes and/or half-skins.

Re to Neil:

Ahh, It seems to have nothing to do with windowblinds, rather it's windows XP or GTK. Sorry bout that.
