New Subscriber Intros

Let us know who you are.

Wednesday, October 19, 2005 by Lantec | Discussion: New Users

Just an idea to throw out there....what with the subscription drive going on.
How about a Sticky for new SUBSCRIBERS to intro themselves. You see this on a lot of the sites out there. Something to give people a way to kinda ease into the community without having to worry about stepping on toes or feel like they're intruding into threads, etc.

That kind of post might be able to catch up to Xaltec's "Word Association" fairly quickly.

So for you noob SUBSCRIBERs post a little something about yourself. You know....real name, bank account & credit card numbers, SSN, home address, etc. (just kidding)

Hello to all,

I guess I will come out of lurking and intro myself.

My name is Wendi, don't ask about the nick unless you really want to know. I have had it for about 11 years. I am 37, being working on/around computers for about going on 20 years. Part of it in the Navy, some on the civilian side, and some on my own. Build mah own boxes, as of right now, 4. I have dabbled in just little of bit of DOS, all of the Windows OSs, Unix, and some Linix. Not a pro on any of them......lol. I love working with graphics programs and graphics of all sorts, I think my fav is Bryce. I thought I would try mah hand at skinning. I am also an avid game player(first person). I hope to learn lots and now that I have written a novel, I will shut up......rofl.

Peace out

I was going to suggest you post in the nick/avatar thread but I see you already did.

Feel free to post away. Since your into Bryce you might want to do a search of the forums using "orb" as a keyword. Just to get the advanced warning. Have fun.

Hey All!! New to the area. Seems like an awesome place around here. I must say I'm saturated with visuals, I do have a little bit of a "Stardock/Object Desktop" Headache. My first day (you know) Thanks for the all the forums, and all of the talent that all is sharing. Once I get comfortable I'm going to love this

Glad your here Gary. Most of the Cat skinners have moved on. Some of the threads may make you think different, but I wouldn't take them too seriously.

Hi Thanks Sir Lantec

My subscription ran out a while back......so I just visited once in a while to see what everyone was making .....then I got OD....still trying to figure it out lol....don't have any great programs for creating anything of quality so I just make desktop wallpaper for myself in paint out of stuff I have from my photos....last fall when I got my OD I promised I would get a subscr. to WC to support it.....and then things got tight around here so I had to wait until I had enough......I know it's not alot of money and the site sure does deliver but sometimes even a couple of bucks takes time to save when you don't have alot lol

I really do love the artwork here...and have alot of respect for the hardworking young (and old like me) people that put their talents and time into making it a viable business. That's why I wanted to show my support......admiration.

I needed another cup of coffee this morning....I shouldn't have been to cranky

sorry

Hi Footsie. My name is Bill (Hi Bill). AKA Sleeping Dragon and most often, SD. I think you'll like it here. The people are nice. The admins are conscientious. The women are..., er you don't care about that. All in all it's a great place to hang out, whether you skin or not. If you need anything, drop me a not at sleeping-dragon at comcast dot net, or post on the forums and a troll or just another fine observer will help you right quick. Peace out and keep the faith.

A day withoout enough coffee is like a day without enough coffee

er, that was "drop me a note" not "drop me a not"

Ok So I love WindowBlinds. I cant get enough. I am currently in Iraq (American Soldier) and So we dont get much here...And I mean...Nothing at all...except all the kittie litter one could ask for.
Let me say that thanks to this site I now am forced to buy that external hard drive. I have been a "Skinning" junkie. Hopefully when i get enough time I can contribute to making some of my own.
Keep up the good work.
