New Subscriber Intros

Let us know who you are.

Wednesday, October 19, 2005 by Lantec | Discussion: New Users

Just an idea to throw out there....what with the subscription drive going on.
How about a Sticky for new SUBSCRIBERS to intro themselves. You see this on a lot of the sites out there. Something to give people a way to kinda ease into the community without having to worry about stepping on toes or feel like they're intruding into threads, etc.

That kind of post might be able to catch up to Xaltec's "Word Association" fairly quickly.

So for you noob SUBSCRIBERs post a little something about yourself. You know....real name, bank account & credit card numbers, SSN, home address, etc. (just kidding)

Hello and welcome orgnlprankster77! I used to live in South Jersy..Ocean City to be exact. Spent many nights playing my guitar at the 9th street pavilion for pizza and beer money.

Hi my name is Craig from the UK, I am in no way any good at arty computer things, but stumbled on here while looking for some windows themes and then found desktop x ............ wow, a whole new computer in a package, amazing, and I have to take my hats of to you all - some are truly amazing, I can not find one that I would like to use - there are so many great ones out there.

Anyway I am a Military advisor and developer on a MOD for a game called BF2, dont do the modeling, skinning, coding etc . Being in the British Army I just "advise".

Gonna try and read the tutorials and maybe develop a desktop x theme ...... 1 day !!

Welcome to WC Cody302 and UNForce. I hope you got the direction you needed from those tutorials Cody. I agree with you about NASCAR, although I prefer the American & Japanese LeMans/GT series for the variety. I live just down the road from Daytona International Speedway so I'm a minority around here. Looking forward to the Rolex 24 and then Sebring a little less than a month later.

UNForce, I've seen that game mentioned a LOT on the web recently. It must be pretty good to get that kind of attention.

I'm Bill. 34+ years in the computer business (yes they had computers then). Too dang much information to wade thru! Can somebody point me to the noob doc? Having a lot of fun messing with OD and Window blinds. It isn't clear on the hierarchy of tools, skins, etc. So far I understand that a theme incorporates everything. So how does that relate to WB skins? I like window objects but haven't quite figured how to tame them yet. I can understand how this could be VERY addictive.

basically it's a suite that incorporates everything the author included, as long as you have the appropriate programs installed.

Noob stuff? depends on what you're looking for...

Just bought Stardock tonight. I'm having a ball exploring it and all the great themes, widgets, suites, and other goodies in the gallery on this site. You guys really put a lot of work into this stuff. Thanks for making it available.

Is this site giving away your software for free, or are they paying for it like the rest of us?

James Ashley, that may well be the Official Japanese version of Wincustomize. I don't know for sure. I do know there is one.

Thank you #156 by Master Apprentice Lantec. I look forward to this year. I should graduate Digital Design in October of this year. I love art. Paintings and posters. Nice talking to you. Oh, I did visit the Japanese site. It was okay, not being able to read and all that sort. Nothing to write home about, so I'll waste no more time on that one.

Peace and understanding.

Hello all. Been here lurking for a long time but never get the chance to post LOL

The name's Idham from Malaysia. Currently working as a customer support officer at a logistic company. Despite my job, I actually have a diploma in Multimedia Design and I'm pretty advanced in Photoshop.

Would love to make my own WB skin someday but too bad as I'm having difficulties in managing my time. >__>

Well guess I'll be seein' you guys.
