New Subscriber Intros

Let us know who you are.

Wednesday, October 19, 2005 by Lantec | Discussion: New Users

Just an idea to throw out there....what with the subscription drive going on.
How about a Sticky for new SUBSCRIBERS to intro themselves. You see this on a lot of the sites out there. Something to give people a way to kinda ease into the community without having to worry about stepping on toes or feel like they're intruding into threads, etc.

That kind of post might be able to catch up to Xaltec's "Word Association" fairly quickly.

So for you noob SUBSCRIBERs post a little something about yourself. You know....real name, bank account & credit card numbers, SSN, home address, etc. (just kidding)

So I guess I'm a new subscriber, but I've been around here a little while

Just thought I'd contribute so that Jafo, Fuzzy and the gang can have some beer & pizza money

My name is Roger, from Everett Wa. I have been playing with computers in the industry for almost 20 years now in one way or another. I have downloaded different items from WinCustomize for quite a few years now. Sorry but Digital Blasphemy got my money , until now.

As soon as I finish a current project, a decent web page to view Davis Intruments Vantage Pro 2 I plan on starting a couple skins and then see how badly I get the skinning bug.

I want to say that there is a lot of really cool items that have been uploaded here. The quality is absolutely astounding! You guys are really good at what you put together.

Hi

My Name is Katie. I am so brand new at this that I don't even know how to upload an image icon for my photo. I hope that with the help of all the citizens, I will learn how to do all this computer stuff. I am a young retiree (52) with loads of time on my hands and lots of creative juices flowing. I already have a wallpaper that I have designed myself but don't know how to upload it. Like when it comes to bitmap url or something like that, I am not sure what it is the form is looking for.    I've looked for tutorial or something but maybe I haven't looked hard enough.

I have been doing different things to my desktop for years but never uploaded any of my creations. If someone can help me in the process, I'd be forever greatfull.
Until then, hope every one has a lot of fun doing this.

OK, welcome Katiebugb.

At the top of this page you should see "My Account" near the right side. Click on that and there's several different things you can do including posting pictures of your Avatar (that's what we call the image in the upper left hand of the posts) as well as your picture and a picture of your current desktop. I believe Avatars are limited to 70x70 pixels and photos are 150x150(I think). As to posting your wallpaper.... there's a link in the left column of boxes that says "Submit A File" That's your starting point. Be sure to read all the instructions as you go. Again Welcome to WC hope you enjoy the community.

Feel free to post any questions you have. The very top right of the forum is a link called "Create Post". That's the place to start.

Thank you again. Well, I'm on my way to stardom. Okay, maybe not so starry but I got my pic updated and I submitted my wallpaper. It's in mod time right now waiting and waiting and waiting.

Hello I'm also a new member here on wincustomize.com. Actually I was here longer but only visited the stardock forums from the stardock website. Didn't know wincustomize was connected to stardock  Ohh well, you could defintely count on me to be a contributing member. But it's going to be hard for me seeing that I have dial-up and everytime i try to upload something more than 1 MB the website don't load. So It's gonna take me awhile until i get a faster internet connection. I tried making logon's but it's hard becuz i get lost in the instructions after the "making progress bar" part. I'm not even computer technical but i at least want to try to make a skin and hopefully a good one. So my goal here is to make a 4 or more star skin.

Ohh yeah i contributed a wallpaper called "Powerful Force". It's pretty cool, go and check it out. I was hoping to update but my stupid dial-up, slow as f**k, won't let me load it.

Welcome.

Logons don't have progress bars - Bootskins have progress bars

Yep. dial up sux. I had to bring in 1/2 mile of line to reach my house. Anything above dialup and I woulda had to pay for for closer to 10 miles of line.
