RANT

Friday, October 7, 2005 by 2badmice | Discussion: OS Customization

Sorry for the rant, but I downloaded an Alienware theme, basically just for the media player as I was going with a dark Desktop X theme. 68MB of download later, click run and "This application doesn't support 64bit and will now close" Double You Tee Eff?????? Why, Stardock supports it as I've been able to install other themes etc. Why????? [/rant]

Stardock doesnt support it. Alienware does. Go flip out at them.

That 68 meg of download is about 65 meg of Media player alone.  The skin WILL work without Desktop X.....because it does quite happily here on mine.....

What I meant was, the Alienware installer wouldn't open on my windows x64, however all other themes do

I have an AMD 64 X2 processor at home and I've run across a few installers that refuse to run on it. I'm still using the 32-bit version of XP but the installer actually barfs because of the processor.. It's very strange but nothing that anyone here can fix. If you have a problem take it up with Alienware, you've said othere themes from here work so it's clear that SD is doing nothing that is incompatible with XP 64-bit..
