Harddrive and Processor Sensor

Saturday, September 24, 2005 by JGSaxon | Discussion: Widget Ideas

I have a laptop and would like to see a widget or Object created that displays the current temperature of my processor and my harddrive. I have no idea of where to start with either. I have a program called Everest that reads the data from the sensor but it would be cool if I can have it sit on my desktop without having to open the program. I know there is a ObjectDock item for sysstats but I am leaning away from object dock and working mainly with DesktopX.

I don't know if anyone's created a widget or docklet that reads the temperature. Temperature reading isn't a standard feature of any SystStats. Most of them require a specialized driver in order to use.

I have found two objects in the DesktopX object listing that do report this information, but first they are configured for Celsius, and I am a stupid American, so don't know the conversion factor, and secondly I get tons of script errors when ran.
