A few notes on the FX Beta

Informational

Thursday, September 22, 2005 by Lantec | Discussion: WindowFX

Just wanted to mention a few items I've noticed. I've run into a conflict with AutoCAD 2006 and WindowFX and I've had to put acad.exe on the exclusion list. Even so, when I use menu animations it will take several seconds to a minute to open the menu in AutoCAD. It doesn't seem to like the transparency for dragging either but since I excluded it I have no problems with dragging.

The other problem is with dragging transparent windows...I have a dual monitor display and occasionally I have an explorer window completely dissappear from the screen once I click the title bar to drag it. It will come back after clicking on the desktop a time or two but usually with some graphical artifacts. When windows open that are partially off-screen they show black or have other errors in the off-screen section when dragged fully onto desktop. I have not been able to figure out what the trigger is and a reboot seems to fix things.

I'm using a Sony Laptop VGN-A690, 1.86GHz Centrino, 1 Gb ram, 128 Mb ATI Mobility Radeon X600 PCIe, dual monitor - 21" dell at 1600x1200 32bit, Widescreen laptop display at 1920x1200 32bit configured with dell display on top (not on side). Normally running are Windowblinds 4.60.048, Object Dock Plus 1.20a.015, IconX 1.10.007, RightClick 1.10a.006, Enhanced Dialog 0.90(.005, WindowFX 2.20c(.003, Iconpackager 3.00b.093,DX3 3.10.042 (installed but not using), Objectbar 1.99d(.002 (installed but not using), Sysmetrix 3.4 running, Rainlender 0.21.2 running

Thanks for the report. We're about to put out a new beta but we'll see if these have been resolved.
