Is Desktop X pro the right choice?
Your e-mail said you can't make stand alone desktops with it.

I would like to know what version would allow me to make stand alone desktops [exe files] and what it costs. Your e-mail didn't provide that information, so I can't make any kind of cost comparison. Thanks,

Not that you can't create standalone desktop replacements with Pro. (not allowed by the license) For that you have to talk to Stardock about obtaining a Enterprice license.
