IE not displaying properly

IE Messed up

Saturday, September 17, 2005 by wstrianese | Discussion: Internet

I purchased object desktop and installed all the components, i.e. Object Dock, Desktop X, etc. IE doesn't display web pages correctly, or at all, now. Java doesn't run on some pages, i get error mesages. I'm running XP Pro with all updatea and service packs applied. The only solution i can see is to reinstall Windows and not use these programs, but I REAlLY want to use them.

I am a handicapped person with a terminal illness and the only enjoyment I get anymore is playing around with my computer. Can someone PLEASE HELP?????????

First let me say how sorry I am you are ill. I don't know if this will help, but you may need to re download the script files. It won't hurt to see if that is what it is. Good luck. http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/downloads/list/webdev.asp

I read on another thread that it could be Norton script blocking. Do you have Norton security on your computer?

I use Norton Anti-Virus and Personal Firewall.

Apparently you need to turn off your script block. Or configure it somehow. I do not have Norton. If I were you I would get rid of it and use Zone Alarm and AVG7. I have used both for years and never had a problem. I have read numerous threads about the problems with Norton and scripts as well as dozens of other problems with Norton. If you look I am sure you will find a dozen threads or more tht address this issue. Here is but one of the threads on the problems with Norton. https://www.wincustomize.com/Forums.aspx?ForumID=1&AID=82080#671338 There are also threads on how to enable scripts in Norton, but I don't have a link for that. Hope you get it fixed. Sorry I couldn't be more help.
