Gadgets coming to Windows Vista

Microsoft has announced its intention to support gadgets in Windows Vista.  Windows Vista gadgets will be able to be incorporated into the Windows Vista side-bar (much as DesktopX gadgets can be incorporated into ObjectBar).

I've written an article that outlines the possible implications of Microsoft embracing gadgets (see below).
